We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Android Engineer with a strong background in the automotive industry and Over-the-Air (OTA) update technologies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating innovative in-car experiences and a proven track record of developing robust and reliable software for connected vehicles. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our automotive products by leveraging the power and flexibility of the Android platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications for our in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems using Kotlin and Java.

  • Build and customize applications for the Android Automotive OS platform, ensuring deep integration with vehicle systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and quality assurance, to deliver a seamless and intuitive user experience.

  • Implement and manage the entire lifecycle of our automotive Android applications, from concept and development to deployment and maintenance on vehicle hardware.

  • Integrate our Android applications with in-vehicle hardware and software through the Vehicle HAL, ensuring seamless communication with networks like CAN and LIN.

  • Develop and maintain our Over-the-Air (OTA) update mechanism to ensure our in-car software is always up-to-date with the latest features, performance improvements, and security patches.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to our Android applications, platform stability, and OTA updates.

  • Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in Android development, the Android Automotive OS, and the connected car ecosystem.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6+ years of professional experience in Android development, with a strong portfolio of shipped applications on the Google Play Store.

  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with a deep understanding of the Android SDK and modern development practices (e.g., Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Dagger/Hilt).

  • Experience with automotive infotainment systems, vehicle diagnostics, and in-vehicle networks (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).

  • Proven experience with Over-the-Air (OTA) update technologies and processes (e.g., A/B updates, update engines).

  • Familiarity with Android Automotive OS and the Android Auto framework.

  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including agile methodologies, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a keen eye for detail and system performance.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Experience with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), including building custom ROMs and system-level development.

  • Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity principles.

  • Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS) and their role in connected car services.
