Graphic Designer

Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Graphic Designer for a contract position in Boston, MA. The opportunity will be a year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Graphic design requires intelligence, knowledge, talent, and skill, along with an affinity for images, words, and media. Professionals in this field create layouts and designs for logos, packaging, advertising, marketing collateral, and other published materials both in print and online.

  • They are responsible for selecting and arranging artwork, creating illustrations, choosing colors, and influencing the concept for the design. Conducting press checks is also part of their role. Knowledge of the latest graphic design software is essential.

  • Strong communication skills are important, as they frequently interact with other creative team members, such as production artists, writers, art directors, and creative directors.

  • They should possess intermediate skills in UI design and mid-level knowledge of UI design principles, as well as some experience in design delivery and UI research. Ensuring quality and consistency in UI design deliverables, which can include mockups, clickable prototypes, design systems, assets for development handoff, simple animations, and anything else the product team might need, is crucial.

  • They should be able to interpret brand guidelines into digital UI for their product and have mid-level knowledge of UI research, including competitive analysis, A/B testing, accessibility, and anything else the product team might need.

  • Collaboration is key, as they work closely with Product Designer (UX) partners in wireframe and design decision handoff, as well as with software engineers on their team, focusing on smoothly handing off assets for development and facilitating UI reviews of the live code.

  • This role offers the opportunity to upskill in design leadership through team process initiatives, lead communication with stakeholders, and establish UI design practices.


Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Creativity and artistic skills
  • Knowledge of design principles and typography
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • 7 years of full-time design work experience (outside of freelance work)
  • Bachelor s/Master s degree in Graphic Design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a superb sense of aesthetics, package design, design layout, brand identity, and prototyping
