Project Overview
MSDE utilizes an Oracle MODE data collection system for student-level data collection of local school system data. This position provides application development, support, and maintenance for data
collections MSDE must implement to meet federal and state requirements.
These data collections and applications require ongoing changes based on federal and state requirements, necessitating an agile development environment and extensive knowledge of education data and accountability reporting.
Technical skills required:
Application Frameworks Oracle SOA Suite; Database Oracle DB 11g; WebLogic 12c; ADF; Application Servers WebLogic 12c; User Interface HTML5, JavaScript, CSS; JDeveloper; OBIEE.
Duties/Responsibilities
Install & Patch: Installation, configuration, and tuning of WebLogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher, and Universal Content Management (UCM). UCM administration includes SOAP, WebDAV, and Enterprise Content Management components, including DM, WCM, and DAM services.
Troubleshoot: Collaborate with App Server DBA and Oracle DBA to resolve application problems.
Perform Migrations: Migrate code between test/QA and production environments.
Maximize High Availability: Design, configure, and maintain high-availability (clustering/loadbalancing) for WebLogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher, and UCM.
Create Configurations: Configure LDAP and SSO for WebLogic and WebLogic-based products such as OBIEE, BI Publisher, and UCM.
Performance Tuning: Tune WebLogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher, and UCM; develop standards, tuning metrics, and alert thresholds; create standardized alerts for exceptional performance thresholds.
Conduct QA: Review proposed changes and test in a test/QA environment.
Create Documentation: Develop WebLogic documentation describing the current configurations for WebLogic, OBIEE, BI Publisher, and UCM.
Develop Best Practices: Research and gather WebLogic best practices and standards for implementation/testing.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience with Oracle middleware/application development and administration.

5+ years administering Oracle WebLogic Server 12c in enterprise environments, including installation, patching, configuration, performance tuning, and migrations across DEV/QA/PROD.
Hands-on experience with Oracle SOA Suite, ADF, OBIEE/BI Publisher, and Oracle Universal Content Management (UCM).
Experience designing and maintaining high-availability (clustering/load balancing) WebLogic infrastructures.
Experience configuring SSO/LDAP integrations and implementing security hardening/monitoring/alerting.
Proficiency with JDeveloper and front-end technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS).
Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain comprehensive platform documentation and to operate in Agile environments.
Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., WebLogic Server 12c Administrator, Oracle SOA) or equivalent demonstrated expertise
