The Opportunity
We are looking for a senior software engineer and/or engineering manager with a strong understanding of 3D graphics application engineering, familiarity with CPU and GPU architectures and a deep sense of software craftsmanship to take on the responsibility for overseeing a team of Graphics Software Engineers in the design, implementation, and deployment of our next generation multi surface collaborative 3D graphics software for creative professionals. We believe this new product will play a key role toward achieving democratization of 3D content connecting flagship creative tools like Photoshop and Illustrator to
this new product.

We are a tight knit team developing state-of-the-art software and delivering robust, fast, and resource-conscious components to product teams.

Our team will closely collaborate with Adobe's UX design and research teams to turn groundbreaking ideas and technologies into shipping features.

What You'll Do
  • Assemble, supervise, and offer mentorship to the engineering team. Keep the team motivated to achieve a high morale and retention.
  • Partner closely with the application's product owner in developing comprehensive engineering plans for the new product.
  • Work collaboratively with UX designers, engineers, and researchers to enable to the team to architect, develop and maintain innovative software solutions.
  • Support a culture of writing robust, high-performance code.
  • Review engineering proposals and give detailed, constructive feedback.
  • Work closely with many different product and teams across Adobe to integrate software across organizational boundaries
  • Work closely with other engineering managers in the 3D&I organization to maximize the sharing of software components and services.

What you need to succeed
  • 5+ years software engineering experience either as a senior developer or engineering manager
  • Experience building user facing applications leveraging common GUI concepts.
  • Deep knowledge of C++ (C++17 preferred) design patterns.
  • Experience with cross platform code.
  • Experience designing for modern, multi-threaded architectures.
  • Experience with design of high-level APIs and frameworks: 3D DAG scene graph design and/or Entity Component System, serialization of scene data, etc.
  • Experience with modern 3D graphics APIs (OpenGL, DirectX,Vulkan, Metal)
  • Familiarity with 3D rendering algorithms and procedures
  • Experience in profiling, debugging, and testing complex systems.
  • Experience with optimization and profiling tools
  • Experience in at least one scripting language, Python in particular
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience or education

Welcomed expertise
  • Creative Cloud applications like Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Universal Scene Description (USD) API and frameworks
  • Qt application framework
  • 3D content creation tools (e.g. Maya, Cinema4D)
  • CMake or equivalent production experience.
  • Familiarity with the use of Generative AI workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $146,300 -- $281,100 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
