Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Systems Implementation Project Manager for a 6-month contract (with potential extension) to oversee an in-flight ERP implementation, ensuring milestones and objectives are met. The ideal candidate must reside locally and bring at least (5) years of experience overseeing complex software implementations with a strong focus on project execution, stakeholder management, process design, and driving adoption across all levels of the organization.
This is a high-impact role responsible for coordinating across cross-functional teams, developing new workflows, overseeing transition efforts, and ensuring smooth onboarding of internal support resources. Success will be measured by the effective adoption of the system and supporting processes by all employees.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management & Leadership
- Oversee an in-flight ERP implementation, ensuring milestones and objectives are met within the contract term.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, implementation roadmaps, and live vs. test environment transitions.
- Maintain risk logs, issue trackers, and progress metrics using project management tools such as Asana, Jira, or equivalent.
- Facilitate status meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, delivering concise updates to stakeholders and executives.
2. Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and secure buy-in across internal teams and vendor (FDM4) counterparts.
- Serve as the primary liaison between leadership, operations, production, IT, and the software development team.
- Coordinate efforts between our internal users, production/operations leads, and the ERP vendor to prevent silos and communication breakdowns.
3. Workflow & Process Development
- Define, test, and deploy new product order entry workflows across multiple departments.
- Support phased transitions of order types from testing into live ERP usage.
- Develop scalable and flexible SOPs, documentation, and workflow guides aligned with system capabilities.
4. Change Management & User Enablement
- Create and execute change management strategies that support process adoption and user readiness.
- Monitor employee transition metrics and ensure all users are trained, supported, and performing effectively in the new system.
- Identify and train future ERP administrators and internal support staff, gradually transitioning day-to-day order entry responsibilities to new system users.
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Track project KPIs including training progress, system usage, workflow readiness, and adoption status.
- Maintain full project documentation, including meeting notes, task trackers, change requests, and decisions.
- Escalate blockers and dependency issues early and propose resolution paths.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience, including at least 3 years leading ERP or enterprise software implementations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to drive alignment across diverse groups.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, ERP implementation methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and business operations.
- Experience managing complex team-based initiatives involving training, documentation, and change adoption.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Jira, MS Project, Trello, etc.).
- PMP, CAPM, or similar certification preferred.
- Must currently reside in the Nashville, TN, area and be available for on-site work.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with ERP systems (e.g., FDM4, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Expertise in building and executing change management plans and user adoption strategies.
- Familiarity with warehouse, order entry, and production operations.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with evolving priorities.
What Success Looks Like in 6 Months
- All product workflows are mapped, tested, and partially transitioned to live ERP usage.
- A formal internal admin/support team is in place and trained.
- A working library of SOPs and training documents has been developed.
- All project tasks are actively tracked, assigned, and executed on schedule.
- Team members across departments demonstrate increased ERP proficiency and buy-in.
