Your Team, Your Impact
The Marvell Advanced Packaging Technology Development team is responsible for package design and technology development to meet the electrical, mechanical, thermal and system requirements for the next generation high performance computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and networking solutions. The group focuses on signal integrity, power integrity, thermal integrity, mechanical integrity, processability, manufacturability, and reliability, involving high speed signaling and complex power delivery networks (PDNs) requiring innovative and custom solutions to meet constantly evolving customer needs. Many of the new designs require multi-chip, multiple component configurations involving, but not limited to, 2.5D and 3D packages, Co-packaged copper or optics and advanced substrates. Marvell has partnered with the world's leading manufacturers to solve our customer's most challenging designs and integrations with industry-leading packaging technologies.
What You Can Expect
The Staff Engineer will be responsible to drive development of innovative mechanical and thermal design supporting prototyping through production of package assembly. The successful candidate will design and perform structural and thermal analysis on a wide variety of complex electronic packages and modules. Work in collaboration with assembly suppliers (OSAT's) to develop tooling & fixtures designs for products including advanced CMOS nodes, silicon photonics devices, and other emerging packaging technologies. The Staff Engineer's excellent communication and social skills will help quickly grasp issues and drive the appropriate developments to resolution. Work in global cross functional teams to drive timely completion of projects.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
106,700 - 157,840, $ per annum
The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.

What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relateable experience or Ph.D. in related area
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar 3D solid modeling experience
- Finite Element Analysis for mechanical simulations using Ansys
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Test (DFT)
- Statistical stack-up tolerance analysis, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Work with manufacturing engineers to transfer prototype designs to production
- Optimize designs using analytical, numerical, and/or empirical assessments
- Thermal FEA simulation experience with ICEPAK or FloTherm
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on experience with conventional machining, CNC machining, & rapid prototyping
- Experience with injection mold tooling, forming tools, and fixture design
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5-2018)
- Chip-Package Interaction (CPI) analysis techniques
- Ability to remotely drive development at suppliers
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical communications
- Project management experience
