Job Title: Equipment and Tooling Engineer-Aerospace Manufacturing

Location: North Charleston, SC

Duration: 12+Months

Shift: First but must be able to work variable shifts

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Equipment and Tooling Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing programs by designing, analyzing, and optimizing production systems. This role involves integrating robotics, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance tooling and equipment performance while ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, and modify aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling to meet stakeholder and program requirements
  • Research and evaluate robotics, automation, and advanced technologies for integration into production systems
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop bids and procurement specifications
  • Estimate, plan, and manage the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling
  • Develop and implement testing protocols to validate equipment performance
  • Create and maintain documentation, preventative maintenance plans, and training materials for production and maintenance teams
  • Implement interim solutions for damaged or unsafe equipment and tooling
  • Investigate engineering changes and maintain configuration control of hardware, software, and documentation
  • Recommend reliability improvements using reliability engineering principles
  • Conduct asset disposition studies and provide actionable recommendations

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent international qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office computing systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Model Based Definition, CATIA, ENOVIA, and Product Data Management systems
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • 5 or more years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven ability to provide product definitions and technical support throughout the product lifecycle to internal teams, suppliers, and external customers
