Job Description
The selected candidate will join a dynamic team in a critical role that supports the installation and testing of interior and exterior communication systems on Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) and Fleet Replenishment Oilers (T-AO) class ships. You will be instrumental in assembling and testing a wide range of complex equipment systems. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work on both electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, providing 3 variety of challenging and rewarding tasks.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following activities:

Use of calibrated test equipment to validate interior/exterior communication systems, assemblies,
sub-assemblies, and integrated systems.
Assemble system level components in accordance with military and DOD standards.
Read and interpret technical drawings for fabrication and installation of cable assemblies,
components, and system integration.
Fabricate a variety of cable assemblies to include multi-conductor, coaxial, and power cables in
accordance with military and DOD standards.
Work with Technicians, Quality Control, Engineering, Drafting and Project Managers to provide
feedback and resolve issues that are focused on maintaining high production quality.
Document defects and report to project lead for resolution.
Regular use of computers and software to record man hours, retrieve drawings/datasheets, request
parts, and document defects.

The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $29.40/hr.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma and at least 4 years of related experience
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
US Navy IT /ET with shipboard/submarine experience
US Navy A School
Ability to set-up and operate complex US Navy communications systems
Shipboard communications equipment maintenance experience
EPF, T-AO, CG, DDG, LPD, or LCS ship class experience

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
