Description:
*Hybrid in Charlotte, NC*

We are seeking a technical, process-driven Automation Engineer to design and implement automated workflow solutions that power our fraud response. This role focuses on transforming manual operational processes into streamlined, automated workflows. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong development skills in Python and SQL, capable of understanding operational needs and translating them into robust, automated solutions.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50 - $60 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with teams to identify bottlenecks, pain points, and opportunities for automation within existing workflows (e.g., case creation, data gathering, actioning).
  • Design, build, and maintain automation scripts, tools, and workflows using Python, SQL, and other developmental tools to handle fraud cases and related operational tasks.
  • Own the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for automation projects-from gathering requirements and documentation to coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support using tools like Git/GitHub.
  • Develop and implement logic for automated case routing, prioritization, and resolution based on defined business rules and policies.
  • Build and manage core data tables and queries required to support operational workflows and performance reporting.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing automation systems to ensure they remain effective and adapt to changing business needs and fraud trends.
  • Simulate the impact of new rules and process changes on operational capacity, case volume, and agent productivity.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Analytics teams to ensure data sources are available and reliable for operational automation needs.

Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in process automation, business systems development, or a similar technical function.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python for scripting and workflow automation.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data querying, transformation, and management.
  • Hands-on experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and version control systems like Git/GitHub.
  • Proven experience analyzing and re-engineering processes for automation and efficiency.
  • Experience in the Financial Services or FinTech industry is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of fraud operations processes, including case management systems and operational queues, is a plus.
