DTS is looking for System Analyst ( Python/Automation) for our direct client position in Charlotte, NC

Role Summary

The Business Analyst – Automation (SPARK Team) is a technical partner embedded within the Auto Credit Operations team, focused on transforming manual, high-effort processes into automated, data-driven solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders and IT to design, build, test, and own automation tools that improve efficiency across the loan origination lifecycle.

This role blends business analysis with hands-on execution — you’ll learn how systems like Loan Origination Systems (LOS) operate, then create automations using Python, Power Automate, and Power BI to eliminate repetition. Over time, you'll take ownership of key processes and workflows, becoming a trusted steward of their performance and evolution.

You’re not just analyzing needs — you’re building the solutions that meet them.

The Work Itself

  • Partner with wider business teams to identify automation opportunities in manual or high-effort areas (e.g., reporting, data validation, system monitoring).
  • Learn and internalize how key systems operate — particularly Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and supporting platforms used across Auto Credit Operations.
  • Design and implement automated workflows using:
    • Python for ETL, API calls, log analysis, and rule-based actions
    • Power Automate to automate business processes (e.g., data ingestion, status updates, approval routing)
    • Snowflake to clean, model, and store data for automation pipelines
    • Power BI to create dynamic dashboards that visualize system health, process performance, and operational metrics
  • Take ownership of existing automation workflows during onboarding — including inherited scripts, dashboards, and processes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams for access, security reviews, and compliance requirements.
  • Document requirements, track progress, and manage deliverables using JIRA and Confluence, aligning with partner team practices (including sprint planning and backlog grooming).
  • Troubleshoot issues in automated systems — diagnosing root causes in data flow, logic, or integration points.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with proven delivery of automation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Proven proficiency in at least one scripting/automation language — Python is required for building data pipelines and automating workflows.
  • Experience working with data in Snowflake (SQL + Python) to transform raw inputs into usable datasets.
  • Hands-on experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI, including handling complex or unstructured source data.
  • Proven experience working directly with business teams to understand needs, define automation opportunities, and deliver solutions — including ongoing maintenance, refinement, and support.
  • Ability to build trust through clear communication, active listening, and consistent delivery.
  • Demonstrated success in translating ambiguous or evolving business requirements into reliable, automated workflows that are adopted and used over time.
  • Comfort operating in agile environments using JIRA for task management and Confluence for documentation.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience automating business processes using Power Automate or similar tools (e.g., UIPath, Automation Anywhere).
  • Exposure to integrating AI models via API — especially for tasks like log analysis or report drafting.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering basics for guiding consistent output from generative tools (e.g., internal LLMs).
  • Experience with low-code/no-code automation platforms in a business context.
  • Familiarity with internal systems used in auto lending — especially Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and related platforms.
  • Understanding of business dynamics in credit operations: decisioning, underwriting workflows, compliance reporting, system uptime tracking.

DTS offers excellent compensation package.
