I. Core Accountabilities: Captive Strategy & Formation
This position is responsible for the strategic lifecycle of the captive:
  • End-to-End Captive Experience: Lead the entire captive formation and operation lifecycle, leveraging direct, hands-on experience in the preferred industry sectors.
  • Business Case Development: Build and articulate compelling, data-driven financial models and business cases for captive formation and enhancement, translating findings into actionable, executive-ready recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Drive high-value client conversations and executive sessions to accurately capture business objectives, current pain points, and precise requirements for the new captive solution.
II. Operations & Value Chain Expertise
The role requires command over the full financial services value chain:
  • Comprehensive Value Chain Expertise: Provide strong operational and subject matter expertise (SME) across all core captive functions, including:
    • Front-Office: Dealer Credit Management, Product Management, and Originations.
    • Back-Office: Servicing, Collections, and Compliance.
  • Operational Excellence: Serve as the SME for captive operations, identifying and implementing key process, compliance, and performance levers to ensure efficient and risk-mitigated execution.
III. Technology & Software Leadership
This individual will define the technology roadmap and select key platforms:
  • Tech Landscape Leadership: Advise executive leadership on the complete technology ecosystem required for robust captive operations, including strategic guidance on platform selection, complex integration needs, and IT security protocols.
  • Software & Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost/benefit analysis on core platforms, demonstrating a strong understanding of the cost structure and functional strengths of leading captive software partners.
IV. Project Governance & Deliverables
Maintain rigorous project discipline and documentation standards:
  • Status Tracking and Reporting: Establish and drive weekly status updates, dashboards, and detailed reporting packages for both internal leadership and client executive reviews.
  • Documentation: Own the creation of all formal client deliverables, including feasibility reports, comprehensive executive summaries, final recommendations, and professional presentation materials.
