Are you an accomplished IT Solutions Architect with a proven track record in the retail sector? We're seeking a highly experienced and strategic individual to join a forward-thinking team. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end IT solutions that drive business value and technological advancement. You'll play a key role in identifying, recommending, and executing solutions, from system upgrades to new implementations, all while ensuring compliance with architectural standards and optimizing for productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.

responsibilities:


  • Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate IT solutions, including upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options, while considering business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Develop and execute solutions aimed at reducing reactive IT work.
  • Collaborate with business and technology subject matter experts to derive end-to-end solutions that deliver enterprise value and adhere to established architectural standards and guidelines.
  • Build strong working relationships with business leadership to ensure alignment between IT and operational objectives.
  • Model solutions from conceptual, logical, and physical perspectives (N+1 views), creating artifacts that define these end-to-end solution views (context, data domain, logical, physical, and deployment).
  • Facilitate the requirements refinement process, with a particular focus on service-level requirements.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure a thorough understanding of proposed architectures, actively incorporating feedback.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure traceability of the design to the proposed solution architecture.
  • Contribute to enterprise guidelines, standards, and principles as new precedents are discovered and adopted.
  • Clearly articulate the architectural decisions underpinning solution designs.
  • Proactively engage with business stakeholders to ensure their immediate and future requirements are addressed by IT.

qualifications:


Requirements (Must-Haves):



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or another related Engineering discipline or relevant field of study.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture roles.
  • 1-2 years of recent retail experience.
  • Proven experience with eCommerce or Cloud in a retail environment.
  • Experience with data integration patterns and tools.
  • Experience in designing solutions in cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of networks and security as they relate to integration and data flow between systems.
  • Strong grasp of security principles in both on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with vendor management tools and their integration with Enterprise Architecture (EA) tools.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels.
  • Ability to build consensus around proposed solutions.
  • Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Preferences (Nice-to-Haves):



  • Experience with Java (Spring Boot), Kafka, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of IT Architectural frameworks like TOGAF and Zachman.
  • Knowledge of retail supply chain and planning, including merchandising.
  • At least two implementations of enterprise-class supply chain management systems.
  • Strong experience in services (SOA/Microservices) design.
  • Strong experience with retailing COTS enterprise-class applications.
  • Strong optimization skills, including stochastic modeling, optimization algorithms, and holistic planning.
  • Ability to understand and derive lower-level roadmaps with business leadership to help set requirements' context.
