Pay Rate: $50 $53/hrRole Summary:
Seeking an experienced Database Migration Specialist to lead the end-to-end migration of enterprise systems from Oracle to PostgreSQL. This includes schema conversion, data transfer, performance tuning, and post-migration support. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and efficient migration process.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration using tools like Ora2Pg.
• Assess current Oracle systems and design PostgreSQL target architectures.
• Optimize database schema and application logic for PostgreSQL compatibility.
• Perform DBA tasks: monitoring, backups, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with dev teams to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.
• Create documentation and runbooks for all migration steps.
• Mentor teams on PostgreSQL and migration best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in CS, IT, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migrations.
• Strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and procedural scripting.
• Familiarity with migration tools (e.g., Ora2Pg, AWS DMS).
• Deep understanding of Oracle & PostgreSQL architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• PostgreSQL admin & HA/DR strategies.
• Scripting/programming in Python, Bash, Java, or Ruby.
• Knowledge of security best practices for data migrations.
