Project Manager - Telecommunications
Job Details
Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for successfully managing the delivery of complex public safety communications projects on time, within budget, and exceeding customer expectations. As a key member of our Program Management team, you will manage the implementation of infrastructure construction, LMR radio networks, radio backhaul, radio system cores and base stations, portable and mobile radio programming, and similar technical projects for state and local government customers.
Reports to: VP of Programs
Location: Tampa, Vero Beach or Rockledge, FL (first month will be onsite then remote with up to 25% travel in the Southeast United States)
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of assigned public safety communications projects from initiation through successful completion
- Create, update, and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and documentation, including creating and baselining Gantt charts, and maintaining up-to-date detailed schedules in TeamGantt
- Monitor project progress against established KPIs and take corrective action when necessary
- Conduct regular project meetings with customers and project stakeholders, including regular in-person meetings, and produce accurate meeting minutes and action plans
- Update and maintain project cost estimates, budgets, and issue logs
- Negotiate and prepare change orders as required
- Trigger the procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontractors according to the project schedule to optimize cash flow and meet delivery objectives
- Coordinate cross-functional resources including engineering, technical services, and installation teams
- Implement that Company's standardized project management methodologies and best practices
- Identify and manage project risks with appropriate mitigation strategies
- Build strong relationships with customers and represent Ci professionally in all interactions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree is required; engineering, construction management, or related technical field is preferred
- Active PMP certification mandatory
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing multiple concurrent $2MM+ projects
- Demonstrated experience delivering telecommunications infrastructure, public safety systems integration, or radio communications projects
- Experience with State and local government project delivery mandatory
- Proven ability to manage infrastructure construction, LMR radio networks, or equipment installation projects
- Strong technical knowledge of communications systems
- Proficiency with MS Project and/or TeamGantt, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Live in Florida and possess a valid US Driver's license
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen & background check
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with P25 radio systems implementation
- Experience with L3Harris equipment installation and programming
- Knowledge of radio backhaul and telecommunications infrastructure
- Background in implementing any of the following:
- Infrastructure construction including towers and equipment shelters
- Body-worn camera solution deployments
- Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system implementations
- Records Management Systems (RMS) deployments
- Vehicle-based communications and video system installations
- Connectivity, monitoring, and security solutions
