Title: Senior Azure Migration Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 3 Months

Objective:

The Senior Azure Migration Engineer will be responsible for leading and executing the migration of multi-server SharePoint environments from on-premises hardware to Azure Virtual Machines. This role requires a deep understanding of both on-premises and Azure infrastructures to ensure a seamless transition. We seek a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also capable of leading complex migration projects with a strategic approach. The role demands a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a forward-thinking mindset to adapt to evolving cloud technologies in an IT consulting scenario.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and implement migration strategies for SharePoint environments to Azure Virtual Machines.

- Conduct pre-migration assessments to identify potential issues and plan for mitigation.

- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that all technical requirements, policies, and standards are met.

- Oversee the lift-and-shift migration process, ensuring minimal downtime and no data loss.

- Optimize Azure resources for performance, cost, and security post-migration.

- Provide technical guidance and training to team members and stakeholders.

- Document all migration processes and maintain a knowledge base for future reference.

- Stay updated with the latest Azure features and technologies to continually improve migration strategies.

Qualifications:

- At least 8-10 years of direct experience in IT infrastructure and migration projects.

- Deep familiarity and experience with Azure Migrate and related tools, services, resources, etc.

- Proven experience with lifting-and-shifting multi-server SharePoint environments to Azure.

- Strong knowledge of Azure services, particularly Azure Virtual Machines and related networking components.

- Familiarity with SharePoint architecture, both on-premises and in Azure.

- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tools for efficient migration processes.

- Microsoft certifications in Azure and related technologies are highly desirable.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications would be advantageous.
