Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer Job Type: Contract Department: IT / Security
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing security team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safeguarding our organization s systems and data from cyber threats by designing, implementing, and monitoring security measures. This role involves hands-on technical expertise in threat detection, incident response, and security infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement secure network solutions to defend against advanced cyber threats.
Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and network traffic to identify potential threats.
Develop and maintain tools for automated threat detection and response.
Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and remediation activities.
Manage endpoint protection systems, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and cloud security tools.
Investigate and respond to security incidents, including root cause analysis and documentation.
Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to integrate security best practices into system and software development.
Support compliance initiatives (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST, GDPR) and assist in audits.
Conduct security awareness training for internal teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in a cybersecurity, network security, or information security role.
Strong understanding of security principles, threat modeling, and risk management.
Hands-on experience with security technologies: firewalls, SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), IDS/IPS, EDR, VPNs, etc.
Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and security controls (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
