Job Details
Title: Mechanical Engineer III
Location: onsite in Camarillo, CA
Length of Contract: 6 - 9 months+ possible extension
Ideal Start Date: Sept 29th - latest October 6th
Hours: 40 hours per week max - typical M-F and need to be mindful of not exceed 8 hours in a day

Scope: This client is working on satellite payload RF units for the major Satellite OEMs (their end customers)
Their mechanical engineer team consists of 8 team members, and they need external support in order to help get through design, analysis and ensuring they are meeting deadlines already set.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own the complete lifecycle of space hardware from initial electrical/RF design concept to production & unit delivery
- Mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments
- Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs
MUSTs:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 3 5 years of mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, and/or manufacturing
- Experience with CAD and FEA software packages - SolidWorks
- GD&T
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred / PLUSs:
- Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or other engineering discipline
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience; preferably in design and analysis of electronics/microwave packaging for space applications
- Knowledge of high mix, low volume manufacturing methods, i.e., CNC manufacturing
- Previous ownership of component design from concept to aerospace industry qualification and production
- Rapid prototyping & design iteration
- Working closely with RF engineers and proficiency with microwave assemblies
- Working on mechanical design of PCAs with PCB designers (layout, thermal, vibration)
