Job Title: DC Fiber Installation Technician
Job Description
We are seeking multiple entry-level cable technicians who are enthusiastic about relocating to Altoona, Iowa for an initial 6-month assignment. This will be followed by a long-term relocation to Lebanon, IN. In this role, technicians will learn cabling on a large scale, assisting higher-level technicians and team leads in constructing the cable infrastructure for a data center.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Job Description
We are seeking multiple entry-level cable technicians who are enthusiastic about relocating to Altoona, Iowa for an initial 6-month assignment. In this role, technicians will learn cabling on a large scale, assisting higher-level technicians and team leads in constructing the cable infrastructure for a data center.
Responsibilities
- Assist in pulling cable and fiber.
- Learn and apply color codes in cabling.
- Punch down and terminate fiber.
- Install cable trays and pathways.
- Build and assemble server racks.
- Support team leads in infrastructure development.
Essential Skills
- Experience with Cat6 and Cat5 cabling.
- Knowledge of cable installation techniques.
- Familiarity with structured cabling.
- Willingness to relocate to Altoona, Iowa and later to Lebanon, IN.
- Telecom experience including installing cable trays, pulling cable/fiber, punch down, and termination.
- Experience with hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Construction experience following blueprints.
- Reliability and coachability.
- Experience in military communications or data centers is advantageous.
- Punctuality and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility with working hours, including potential 10-12 hour days and 6-day work weeks.
