Required Skills & Experience
- 2-5 years of experience and in-depth knowledge of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various POS hardware and software platforms.
- Strong understanding of local area networks (LANs), including components like switches, routers, and access points, as well as troubleshooting network connection errors.
- Proficiency in testing, diagnosing, and repairing technical equipment and software to identify and resolve issues.
- Familiarity with industry standards and protocols for payment processing systems.
- Experience with peripherals such as barcode scanners, receipt printers, and other associated equipment.
- Ability to perform low-voltage cable pulling and termination for system installations.
- Knowledge of relevant security standards to protect customer and business data.
- Competency with diagnostic utilities and other tools used for problem-solving.
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record required (This is a driving position - reimbursed accordingly)
- Active driver's license.
- Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users, provide updates during installations, and coordinate with vendors and clients.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly resolve technical issues and minimize business downtime.
- A customer-focused approach to ensure positive interactions and successful technical rollouts.
- Meticulousness in installations and troubleshooting to prevent errors and disruptions.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of project timelines and the ability to work within budget and schedule constraints.
What You Will Be Doing
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot POS hardware and software, including networking, payment processing, and peripheral devices like scanners and printers.
- Key technical skills involve understanding various POS platforms (e.g., Oracle MICROS, NCR, Square), performing hardware and software diagnostics, troubleshooting network connections, and installing/repairing systems.
- Essential soft skills include strong communication for training and client interaction, problem-solving for quick issue resolution, customer service, and attention to detail to ensure smooth operations and minimal business disruption.
