Department Introduction

Micron's DRAM Engineering Group is dedicated to ensuring our memory products meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and system-level compatibility. The System Compatibility team plays a critical role in early validation of DRAM products, working closely with internal and external partners to deliver reliable solutions across diverse computing platforms.
Position Overview

As a System Compatibility Engineer, you will lead the validation and qualification of Micron's DRAM products in customer systems. You'll perform system-level failure analysis, develop diagnostic tools, and collaborate across engineering teams to ensure our products meet stringent performance and compatibility requirements. This role offers opportunities for hands-on experimentation, data analysis, and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Micron product qualifications with internal and external customers.
  • Build and complete validation strategies for new technologies, including system test methodologies and memory diagnostics.
  • Design and implement automation for system-level testing.
  • Perform computer and system characterization and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with system enablers and multi-functional teams across Micron.
  • Communicate findings and insights to internal customers and external partners.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites or partner locations for development and support.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience or understanding of hardware platforms (e.g., x86, ARM, DRAM, Intel, AMD).
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and motherboards.
  • Proficiency in Python, Linux, SQL, C#, or Golang.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or project experience in system compatibility or DRAM validation.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and DRAM operation.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Innovative approach with a desire to improve processes and products.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
