We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Engineer with a strong background in Windows network administration, Active Directory, .NET authentication, SQL Server, and Azure PaaS SQL Database. This role will focus on supporting the Active Directory Domain migration efforts, including application and database changes required for successful migration. The engineer will play a critical role in application remediation, ensuring seamless user access and integration with the new domain.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Inventory all applications running on the current domain, gathering key attributes such as application owner, authentication/authorization methods, and group details.
    • Use CMDB, Data Governance, and other sources to refine and unify application inventories, ensuring CMDB is updated as the source of truth.
    • Organize and lead meetings with application owners to ensure all inventory attributes are identified and accurate.
    • Research and document how each application handles user and service account authentication, including required AD groups.
    • Assess each application's readiness for migration to the target DSGLOBAL domain, including the ability to connect to both IAM and DSGLOBAL domains for authentication.
    • Identify and scope necessary application refactoring (data or .NET code) to enable dual-domain or DSGLOBAL-only authentication.
    • Prepare detailed application-by-application remediation plans for domain migration, specifying required changes and expected outcomes.
    • Ensure all updates are accurately reflected in the CMDB by coordinating with IT Application Owners.
  • Technical Implementation & Support:
    • Develop and modify .NET applications to support new authentication and authorization models as required by the migration.
    • Implement and test changes to SQL Server and Azure PaaS SQL Databases to support domain migration and application remediation.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows network administration, Active Directory integration, and application/database connectivity.
    • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient migration processes.
  • Ongoing Support:
    • Provide ongoing support for Phase 2 of the AD migration, addressing application and database issues as they arise.
    • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices for authentication, authorization, and secure application development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in .NET development (C#, , .NET Core).
  • Strong experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and network protocols.
  • Proficient in SQL Server development, performance tuning, and Azure SQL PaaS.
  • Deep understanding of authentication and authorization frameworks (Windows Authentication, OAuth2, SAML, Kerberos).
  • Experience with Azure services, including App Services, Key Vault, Azure AD, and SQL Database.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and Windows automation tools.
  • Experience with application inventory, remediation, and migration projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-204, AZ-500, MCSE, or MCSA).
  • Experience with enterprise identity management and SSO integration.
  • Familiarity with CMDB and Data Governance processes.
  • Experience in large-scale domain migration projects.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor team members.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on documentation and process improvement.
