VTC Network Engineer, Mid
The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the DoD to achieve its missions, but how can an organization make sure its network will fit its current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you'll use your skills in network and system administration support, trusted agent (TA) operations, end-user support, asset and device management, communications security and controlled cryptographic item management and maintenance, mobile device management and support to include BES and CSfC devices to help support the nation's defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You'll monitor the operation of assigned applications, servers, and storage devices to optimize performance while taking actions as appropriate to prevent or limit hardware or software failure and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

Your knowledge of VTC technology will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:
  • Experience planning, scheduling, and executing small- and large-scale equipment upgrades
  • Experience m aintaining core datacenter infrastructure and following cabling and organization standards, and performing system backups and recovery
  • Experience providing basic troubleshooting and problem resolution in support of Mobile Device Hardware from multiple vendors, such as Apple, Blackberry, and Samsung Mobile Device Software Operating Systems from multiple vendors, such as iOS, Android, and Blackberry
  • Ability to t roubleshoot wireless carrier network services such as voice, data, Short Message Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS), data tethering, mobile hot spot, and management of carrier mobile telephone numbers between devices
  • Ability to perform hands-on installation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment, as required, and operating approved key fill devices, including KIK-20 and KIK-30, and AN/CYZ-10
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience with VTC engineering or Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and 3+ years of experience with VTC engineering
  • IAT Level II Certification
  • CCNA Certification


Nice If You Have:
  • Ability to perform shift work on an as-needed basis
  • Completion of the COMSEC Custodian Course
  • MCSA, Windows Server, or MCA Certifications


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
