What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Delivers high quality technical designs and code for the product requirements in a fast-paced agile scrum sprint. Participates in medium to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing and developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders, collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs, interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan, and providing leadership to the project team. Participates in small to medium-sized engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, direction, and examples, identifying short- and long-term solutions and timeline, reviewing and providing feedback for proposed solutions, and performing design and code reviews of changes. Performs build, deployment and continuous integration processes to move the code and configurations from local development environments to QA & Production environments. Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause), engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues, formulating an action plan, performing actions as designated in the plan, interpreting the results to determine further action, performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues, and completing online documentation. Designs and develops robust, scalable Rest API's with Java, Reactive Java, Cassandra and Cosmos DB using SOA, microservices and event driven architecture. Migrates current code to use Cosmos DB for persistence and creates a scalable schema to handle multiple use-cases. Develops Sparks jobs for various Business Requirements and generates the reports. Modifies software to fix errors, adapts it to new hardware, improves its performance. Builds asynchronous pipelines for Walmart systems using Kafka in an event driven architecture. Maintains and improves existing codebases and peer review code changes. Writes complex Cassandra queries and design scalable schemas for Walmart system. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. Follows Agile/Scrum method for development and used JIRA to track stories and bugs.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience designing and developing robust, scalable Rest API's using Reactive Java, Cassandra and Cosmos using SOA, microservices and event driven architecture. Experience designing and developing robust, scalable Rest API's using Java in a microservice architecture. Experience developing Sparks jobs for various Business Requirements and generating the reports. Experience building asynchronous pipelines using Kafka in an event driven architecture. Experience writing scalable Cassandra, Cosmos queries and design scalable schemas. Experience participating in small to medium-sized engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, direction, and examples, identifying short- and long-term solutions and timeline. Experience participating in medium to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, development, writing unit tests, regression tests and production go-live support. Experience modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. Experience documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. Experience collaborating with other programmers to design and implement features. Experience maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer review code changes. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $153,301/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
