Client: Energy & Utility
Job Title: GIS / CAD Operator II
Duration: 06 Months
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Pay: $20-25/hourly.
Duties:
- The Technician is responsible for inputting Low Voltage Electric design work orders into a GIS Mapping System. This role typically requires at least one year of experience as a Technician, performing a variety of complex technical/scientific tasks under general supervision. Experience is normally in a specialized technical area such as drafting, electric design, CAD, or GIS. Tasks may include communicating with internal customers, interpreting design orders and records, and interpreting electric work orders. The role also involves maintaining confidentiality, potentially maintaining logs/spreadsheets, and other similar tech support. You'll be expected to follow all safety rules and procedures, contributing to the safety of co-workers and the public. This includes being willing and able to follow instructions, assisting in training co-workers, and cooperating with other employees and customers. Maintaining a clean, orderly work area is also required. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner that demonstrates effective communication, cooperation, open information exchange, respect, high ethical standards, and professionalism. Normal, but flexible, hours are 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime being a possibility.
Skills:
- CAD & GIS Proficiency: Highly proficient in CAD and GIS software, with a proven ability to interpret construction drawings and integrate as-built information into GIS mapping systems for electric distribution orders, as well as maintaining and improving existing data.
- Project & Time Management: Strong track record of managing multiple tasks and projects concurrently, consistently meeting deadlines, and making independent decisions.
- Technical Aptitude: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Windows XP or later) and eager to learn new systems and procedures, including a strong interest in SAP.
- Collaboration & Independence: A self-motivated and team-oriented individual capable of working effectively with minimal supervision.
- Professionalism & Customer Focus: Demonstrates core values of professionalism, including appropriate attire, etiquette, punctuality, organization, and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Education:
- An associate's degree in a related area and/or 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
