Job Summary
As a Business Systems Analyst, you will serve as the bridge between business and technology,ensuring that life insurance product requirements are clearly defined and effectively implemented. You will play a critical role in Agile teams, refining user stories, supporting system
enhancements, and ensuring high-quality product delivery. Additionally, you will review code coverage and test case coverage to ensure system reliability and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
 Collaborate with Product Owners, Sales, Underwriting, and IT teams to define and refine business and system requirements for life insurance products and sales processes.
 Facilitate backlog grooming, user story development, and acceptance criteria definition in an Agile environment.
 Analyze and document business processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in policy issuance, underwriting, claims, and customer servicing.
 Translate life insurance business needs into well-defined functional and technical requirements.
 Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups,retrospectives, and demos.
 Work with developers and testers to ensure system solutions align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
 Review code coverage reports to ensure adequate test coverage and identify gaps in unit and integration testing.
 Analyze test case coverage to validate that key insurance workflows, compliance rules, and critical business scenarios are thoroughly tested.
 Support user acceptance testing (UAT), helping sales and underwriting teams validate system enhancements.
 Continuously monitor Agile metrics and feedback loops to drive improvements in business processes and system efficiency.
 Stay up to date with life insurance industry trends, regulatory changes, and digital sales innovations.
Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in life insurance or financial services.
 Strong understanding of life insurance products, underwriting, policy administration, and sales workflows.
 Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).
 Proficiency in defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog management.
 Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps. Understanding of code coverage metrics and test case coverage analysis.
 Experience collaborating with QA teams to improve testing strategies for insurance applications.
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
 Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
 Experience with life insurance CRM, policy administration, or underwriting platforms is a plus.
 Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the life insurance industry is a plus.
