The Intersect Group is partnered with our direct client in Tulsa, Oklahoma Irving to find a Senior Network Operations Engineer.

Direct hire

Location: Tulsa onsite 5 days a week

Technical leader responsible for operational network services, including wired and wireless connectivity, network security, and unified communication systems. This position participates in the design, planning, documenting, and continuous improvement of all network services. Plan, schedule, and perform complex maintenance tasks on all network, firewall, and voice systems for the enterprise. Will be responsible for ensuring network services and processes are operating in accordance with company standards and procedures. They will act as the escalation point for all network services and will act as a mentor for other IT staff.

Must Haves:

  • 8+ years of network experience predominantly on Cisco solutions including equipment, hardware, and software.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting VOIP technologies.
  • CCNP Cert highly desired
  • Firewall experience
  • The role is about 75% leadership and 25% in the weeds type of work so need someone who can act as a leader
  • Need to have mentored or lead team members recently

Other requirements:

  • Associate s degree in technology field or equivalent experience. Cisco CCNA and CCNP certification (current or expired).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to take the initiative and work without direct supervision.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor s degree in Telecommunications or 4-year college degree in a technology related field. Current Cisco CCNP certification.
  • 8+ years of experience and knowledge on Cisco Routers, switches, and Datacenter (Arista), BGP, Azure Cloud, Cisco Unified Communications Products, Cisco Prime Management Tools, SolarWinds Orion, Palo Altos, Meraki Firewalls, network management technologies such as SNMP, NETCONF, SYSLOG, NetFlow, and PCAP.
  • Working knowledge of voice and data premise wiring. Advanced scripting, (BASH, Python, and PowerShell). Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to work in a team environment.

Other details:

This contributor will be like a help guide for the technology in the group, help land projects from the engineering teams, and make sure that the NOC has what they need to transition a tech, project, or process or any of the many other things that can happen during the year. This role will mentor the NOC Analysts and help them with processes or technologies as they are in the day-to-day weeds of doing tickets, upgrades, troubleshooting, etc. This person will assist with any new hires to help onboard them, from a technology standpoint.

Looking for someone who has done a little bit of everything/anything on the network stack. The current stack is Cisco, Arista, Meraki Wireless, and Palo Alto firewalls. Someone who can go into meetings, being a liaison with Engineering and Architecture to help understand standards and help define what the NOC needs going forward to be successful.
