Job Details

Scope of Services:

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer to support the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS). The selected candidate will assist with planning, implementation, and maintenance of complex enterprise and cloud-based network systems.

Certifications (Required):

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. (Required)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and forecast network resource requirements.

  • Design and implement secure network solutions (LAN/WAN/Cloud/VOIP).

  • Evaluate, integrate, and maintain networking systems including Cisco, Palo Alto, and VOIP.

  • Monitor network performance, tune systems, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Implement and manage cloud network configurations (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

  • Develop and maintain documentation for all network designs and updates.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

  • Identify risks, track vulnerabilities, and implement corrective actions.

  • Support and troubleshoot outages, ensuring minimal downtime.

Technical Skillset:

  • Strong experience with Cisco LAN and Routing, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2013/2018.

  • Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, SSL, VPN, Routing Protocols, VOIP.

  • Proficient with Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, and cloud networking tools.

  • Familiarity with mainframe emulation tools, PC-based software, and network diagnostic tools.

  • Ability to write/maintain Python scripts and technical documentation.

  • Experience with developing and executing network upgrade plans.
