Location: McLean, VA (Onsite 5 days a week)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our team in McLean, VA. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong expertise in designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge across Java, AWS, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, with a strong background in the mortgage/financial services domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution design and architecture for enterprise applications in the mortgage space.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to define technical requirements and align with business objectives.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions leveraging Java, AWS cloud services, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Ensure architectural integrity, adherence to best practices, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development teams.
• Conduct architectural reviews, performance tuning, and ensure compliance with security guidelines.
• Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and solution blueprints.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in enterprise-level environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with:
  • Java (enterprise applications)
  • AWS Cloud (core services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
  • PostgreSQL and MongoDB (design, optimization, scaling)
• Solid understanding of mortgage industry processes, systems, and regulatory requirements (MUST have mortgage domain experience).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work onsite in McLean, VA, Monday Friday (5 days a week).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices architecture and API design.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with data integration, ETL, and analytics solutions.
