Job Title: Equipment Engineer - Electrical and Controls Focus

Locations: Auburn, WA and Fredrickson, WA

Duration: 12+Months

Division: Fabrication, Production Engineering

Position Overview: We are hiring Equipment Engineers to join our Production Engineering team in Auburn and Fredrickson, Washington. This role focuses on electrical and controls engineering within the Fabrication Division and supports the development, implementation, and optimization of automated systems and production equipment.

Successful candidates will be hands-on problem solvers with a strong interest in process improvement and production efficiency. This role requires regular interaction with mechanics, safety teams, and equipment services on the production floor. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement equipment solutions based on program and project requirements
  • Review electrical schematics and control panel designs
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support real-time production needs
  • Lead equipment acquisition and modification projects, including testing and commissioning
  • Analyze technical data to assess impact on product design and production rates
  • Ensure compliance with safety, ergonomics, reliability, and regulatory standards
  • Develop bid packages and purchase specifications for supplier-sourced equipment
  • Resolve production issues related to quality, safety, and repeatability
  • Maintain hardware configuration and documentation
  • Conduct asset studies and recommend disposition strategies

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Two or more years of experience managing technical equipment projects
  • One or more years of experience with programming languages such as Java or SQL
  • Experience working with industry standards for electrical system design
  • Background in automation and robotics
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams
