Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineering role within the Advanced Technology Organization (ATO) will focus on software development for AI/ML research and innovation projects. Utilize standard development methodologies, best practices, tools and proven processes to lead teams to deliver a quality software proof of concept on budget, within planned schedule. Responsible for driving the design and development efforts related to architecture, scalability, availability and performance in alignment with the innovation roadmap. Serve as Subject matter expert in AI/ML methodologies and MLOps using Azure/AWS for Grid Control systems with a proven track record. Responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving AI/ML modules in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development tools and infrastructure. Experience in agile methodologies such as SCRUM. Work with internal teams and customers to understand requirements & vision. Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse. Lead impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design /architectural considerations, and implementation strategy. Navigate through ambiguity and prioritizing conflicting asks and tasks. Expert level skills in design, architecture, and development, with an ability to take a deep dive in the implementation aspects if the situation demands. Lead the architecture and design efforts and is an expert in architecting custom modules and solutions. Serve as an expert in core data structures as well as algorithms and the ability to implement them.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering (any) and Math). Seven (7) years of experience in a related occupation.
Work experience to include: Five (5) years of experience in software development; Two (2) years of experience with Electric Utility Software Development; Two (2) years of experience with AI/ML & Power Systems; Two (2) years of experience with Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure. Any and all experience may be gained concurrently. 100% remote position. Telecommuting is permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to GE Energy Management Services LLC in Bellevue, WA.
Salary for this position is $190,486.00/yr
For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $190,486.00 - $218,400.00 annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 10% variable incentive compensation. Available health and welfare benefits include healthcare, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage; savings account options (such as a Health Care Flexible Savings Account, Health Reimbursement Account, Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account, and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account); and an employee assistance program.
