Job Details
Job Title: Network Architect
Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Travel: Up to 50%
Job Responsibilities
- Study the networking landscape within an enterprise data center and hybrid networking environment.
- Partner with clients and internal teams to identify critical architectural, security, and infrastructure gaps and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Continuously evaluate network design and configurations based on performance metrics, user feedback, and evolving business requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and triage alerts from network systems.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Build and manage relationships with partners and vendors related to network solutions.
- Engage directly with customers at both technical and business levels to drive successful outcomes.
- Lead the engineering and implementation of firewall policies, rule sets, and segmentation strategies across data centers and cloud platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong experience managing network hardware and appliances including Zscaler, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, and NetScaler.
- Experience implementing, supporting, and maintaining multi-vendor virtualized environments and troubleshooting network alerts.
- Proficiency with network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, iperf, tcpdump, and similar utilities.
- Strong knowledge of virtualized and software-defined networking platforms such as VMware and NSX.
- Ability to script or automate network provisioning using PowerShell, PowerCLI, and/or Python.
- Experience with cloud security, endpoint security, and SIEM logging tools.
- Strong experience with Linux and Windows system administration, including security and patch management.
- Proficient in network architecture, data center ecosystems, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols including routing, subnetting, NAT, firewall configurations, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, NetFlow).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively across distributed teams.
- Strong hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting networking in hybrid environments.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF
- Enterprise firewalls: Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point, AlgoSec, Juniper Networks
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Comfortable working with Linux command-line tools and file systems.
