Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Regulatory Risk Reporting (Java/React/SQL)
Location: Charlotte, NC (300 Brevard St) - Hybrid (3 days onsite/week)
Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)
Line of Business: Capital Markets Risk Technology (CMRT) - CCAR Team
Work Authorization: Contract (No conversion planned)
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Capital Markets Risk Technology (CMRT) group, supporting the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) reporting platform. This role is part of a strategic initiative to modernize and scale risk reporting systems in response to increased trading activity and evolving regulatory requirements.

You will contribute to the development and enhancement of applications that support enterprise and regulatory reporting, with a focus on Java-based backend services, modern web UI frameworks, and SQL-based data processing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications for regulatory risk reporting.
  • Build and enhance web-based UIs using React or Angular.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and database components for reporting workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, conduct design/code reviews, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and design reviews.
  • Act as a full-stack contributor, supporting all phases of the SDLC including development, testing, and deployment.
  • Support quarterly and annual CCAR reporting cycles, including ad hoc internal testing and monthly reporting needs.
  • Contribute to the decommissioning of legacy SSRS components and migration to modern reporting solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
  • 3+ years of experience with React or Angular for front-end development.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, object-oriented design, and software architecture.
  • Experience working in Agile environments using tools like Jira.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with regulatory or risk reporting in financial services.
  • Familiarity with Autosys, SSRS, or similar scheduling/reporting tools.
  • Exposure to capital markets, risk modeling, or CCAR frameworks.
  • Ability to contribute across the full stack and lifecycle of enterprise applications.
Additional Information
  • This role is part of a pilot program within the CMRT group.
  • Team follows a hybrid work model with mandatory in-office presence 3 days/week (typically Tuesday and Thursday).
