Job Title: Senior Project Manager Banking Domain

Location: New York City, NY or Jersey City, NJ (Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager (15+ years) with a deep understanding of the banking and financial services domain to lead and deliver enterprise-level initiatives for our client. This is a full-time, onsite role based out of New York City or Jersey City. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and proven success in managing complex financial projects end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead large-scale banking/financial projects from initiation through execution and delivery.
  • Act as the primary liaison between client stakeholders, internal teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Manage all aspects of project life cycle: scope, schedule, cost, quality, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination between development, testing, infrastructure, and business teams.
  • Ensure projects align with business goals and deliver measurable value.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and project updates to senior leadership.
  • Navigate and manage regulatory/compliance issues inherent to the banking domain.
  • Apply industry-standard PM methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) depending on the project.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of Project Management experience, with at least 10 years in the banking/financial services industry.
  • Strong background working with major banking clients (BNY Mellon, JPMorgan, Citi, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale enterprise programs with complex integrations.
  • Solid understanding of banking systems, regulatory frameworks, risk management, and financial products.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Hands-on experience with project tools like MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
  • Bachelor s degree in business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field (MBA/PMP preferred).
