Battery Test Technician _ 2+ yrs exp _ Normal IL

Responsibilities

• Execute various battery module and pack-level tests, documenting observations and collecting all required data.
• Instrument battery cells, modules, and packs for specialized testing in coordination with battery assembly teams; support the build of instrumented battery systems.
• Occasionally travel between sites to support instrumentation assignments and testing activities.
• Calibrate and maintain test instrumentation, measurement systems, and diagnostic equipment; troubleshoot equipment issues and support team members in measurement and calibration processes.
• Assist with facility startup operations, including commissioning and integration of battery test systems.
• Follow detailed technical drawings and test procedures to ensure high-quality, accurate execution of assigned tasks.
• Support the design, modification, and implementation of test fixtures and instrumentation tailored for battery testing.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, contributing to overall lab and facility organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team with minimal supervision.
• Eagerness to learn and continuously develop new skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience working with lithium-ion batteries, modules, and pack assemblies is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience in building or installing wiring harnesses is a plus.
• Background in either electrical or mechanical systems is highly beneficial.
