Android Engineer
Summary
We are seeking a senior-level Android Software Engineer to join a collaborative technology team focused on building, enhancing, and supporting modern applications. The work will focus on full-stack development and requires a strong foundation in Android. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in an Agile environment. It will focus on designing, developing, and supporting Android and Cloud-based applications using modern frameworks and best practices. The role requires full-stack development, with Android development as a core competency; front-end experience is a plus. This opportunity offers a hybrid work location and schedule: on-site (Omaha, NE or Kansas City, MO) with limited remote flexibility after onboarding
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and optimize software solutions across applications, databases, and integrations.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned to business needs.
- Translate business and technical requirements into effective technical implementations.
- Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to improving development standards.
- Troubleshoot issues and support QA, UAT, and production releases.
- Apply Agile principles to support high-performing teams.
- Mentor and coach team members on development best practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience with Android development using Java, Kotlin, and Python.
- Expertise with Gradle or Maven build tools.
- Proficiency with Git, AWS, and SQL.
- Experience with Cloud-based Java applications.
- Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
- Knowledge of Cloud security best practices and zero-trust principles.
- Experience working with APIs and integration frameworks.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to change.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience building Android applications using the Ktor Framework.
- Familiarity with application monitoring, observability, and logging tools.
