Job Title: Governance & Compliance Analyst I

Location: Charlotte, NC Onsite (Full-time)
Duration: 2-Year Contract (40 hours/week) W2 Contract
Travel: Occasional local travel (~100 miles during contract)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Governance & Compliance Analyst I to join a cybersecurity governance and risk team within a major utility organization. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance by performing audits, evidence reviews, and quality assurance processes across multiple business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external audit processes through evidence collection, validation, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a strong compliance culture
  • Perform quality assurance (QA) reviews of processes, procedures, and evidence
  • Assist with regulatory documentation, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance tracking
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and compliance framework implementation
  • Occasionally visit operational sites to ensure regulatory adherence

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience in utility, cybersecurity, auditing, compliance, or regulatory functions
    • OR 8+ years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO)
  • Experience with audit processes, evidence validation, and regulatory reporting
  • Familiarity with business applications, IT security, and critical infrastructure
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage confidential information, and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Engineering
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with regulatory standards
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or GIAC
  • Familiarity with enterprise process implementation
  • Background in controls, risk management, or compliance monitoring
