Description

We are looking for a dedicated Software Engineering Manager to oversee the development of embedded software for digital power control systems in Greater Cleveland, Ohio. This role requires a strong technical background combined with leadership skills to guide a team of engineers in delivering high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware, driving innovation in real-time embedded systems.

Responsibilities:

Lead the creation and implementation of embedded software for digital power control systems, ensuring high power output in DC and AC formats.

Design and develop firmware for real-time control using MCUs, DSPs, or FPGAs, leveraging C/C++ or similar low-level programming languages.

Supervise and mentor a team of engineers, conducting code reviews, providing technical guidance, and evaluating performance.

Collaborate with hardware, systems, and product teams to establish software requirements and interface specifications.

Promote best practices in embedded software development, including version control, unit testing, and comprehensive documentation.

Manage the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept through production and ongoing support.

Debug and troubleshoot complex embedded systems in laboratory settings to ensure optimal functionality.

Travel occasionally, up to 10%, for project-related needs or collaboration.

Stay updated on advancements in embedded systems and integrate innovative solutions into projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's Degree is preferred.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Proficiency in C/C++ programming for real-time embedded systems.

Hands-on experience with digital control systems, including loop stability and voltage/current regulation.

Experience with RTOS environments, and strong experience in digital control of power systems (PID control, loop stability, voltage/current regulation).

Knowledge of firmware development and debugging processes for embedded hardware.

Expertise in embedded development environments and tools.

Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.
