Work Arrangemen t :

Onsite - This role requires you to be onsite on a full-time basis. The primary work location will be Warren, MI. This role requires travel between 25% - 75% to local manufacturing sites, as well as other sites within the US.

The Role :

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing engineering to join our Autonomous Robotic Center (ARC) Advance d Manufacturing team . ARC is General Motors' innovation hub for advanced manufacturing systems, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and cobots . You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies & assembly methods to enable high quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives. They'll also support cross-functional projects that drive continuous improvement and support ARC's mission and vision.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Develop efficient manufacturing processes for A RC products


  • Evaluate designs against theBill of Process (BOP)andBill of Operations (BOO)to streamline production workflows


  • Conductvirtual builds, and participate in PFMEA workshopsto validate manufacturability and safety


  • Collaborate with p roduct e ngineering to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements and drive common processes


  • Ability to identify issues requiring escalation and communicating to leadership possible solutions or risks


  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues.


  • Manage project timing, resources, budgets, and reporting (scorecards, one-pagers, meeting minutes)


  • Support prototype builds and participates in peer reviews for design improvements and compliance to manufacturing requirements


  • Drive product designs with the lowest Base Engineered Content (BEC)


Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 2+ years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in automotive or robotics


  • 2+ years of professional e xperience working with CAD, VisMockUp , and TeamCenter or equivalent


  • Understanding of power requirements, circuitry, sensors, and control units


  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical , Electrical , Industrial , or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience


What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) :

  • Experience with 2D/3D LiDAR, stereographic vision systems, and odometry/localization technologies


  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics and performing hands-on wiring for sensors and embedded systems in manufacturing environments


  • Familiarity with Safety Rated Controls systems and advanced material handling automation


  • Experience in powered mechatronics and CAN bus communications


  • Proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional improvement projects
