Schedule: 3-4 evenings per week, typically Tuesday - Thursday, 10:00 PM - 2:00 AM
Contract Duration: Through December 2026 with possibility of extension or permanent Hire


Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Field Technician to support evening switch installation and replacement projects. This role involves performing pre-site assessments, installing or replacing network switches (Aruba and Arista), and ensuring optimal cabling and power readiness. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on networking skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and the flexibility to work overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-site assessments to prepare for switch installations and replacements.
  • Replace existing switches (no net-new deployments).
  • Assess and verify cabling and power to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Install, configure, and test Aruba and Arista switches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including network diagrams and installation reports.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to report progress, issues, and recommendations.
  • Follow established safety and quality standards during all installations.

Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of hands-on networking experience, specifically with Aruba and Arista switches.
  • Proven experience performing switch replacements and network upgrades.
  • Strong knowledge of network cabling standards and power requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity and hardware issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work evening shifts (10 PM - 2 AM), 3-4 nights per week.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and documentation.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in structured cabling assessments and optimization.
  • Familiarity with network design and topology documentation.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, Aruba Certified Switching Associate, or similar are a plus.
