Job Details

TCI has an immediate need for an Audio Visual (AV) Field Service Engineer in Louisville, KY. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
NOTE This position requires ship due to the Security Clearance requirement.
SUMMARY
The AV Field Service Engineer will provide technical support to assigned customer locations. Will work alongside other AV Techs to conduct integration, operation, installation and maintenance of audio visual (A/V) equipment such as display devices, projectors, video teleconferencing systems, fiber equipment, and other related equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform systems design, integration, installation and servicing of AV equipment and systems. Verify installations are working and exceed standards.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain A/V equipment and systems for clients.
  • Perform quality control checks.
  • Perform system calibrations for audio and video installed systems.
  • Verify that fabrications and installations meet design specs and standards.
  • Document reported issues.
  • Make service calls within a 3-hour radius of Louisville to client sites as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates Degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting audio visual equipment.
  • Ability to understand and manipulate basic code of audio processors such as VTC codecs and audio DSP technology (Biamp, QSC, ClearOne, others).
  • Understands Control System installation (Crestron, AMX, Extron), IP network knowledge (Wired and Wireless).
  • Capability to read and understand AV system drawings/schematics and signal flow, construction plans and system flow diagrams.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; and IP network knowledge, ISDN network knowledge.
  • CTS certification (Certified Technology Specialist) is a huge plus! Will need to obtain a CTS certification within 6 months (company will pay).
  • Ability to obtain Federal Government Secret Security Clearance or above is desirable.
