Job Description

This position is with the Plant Engineering group. The Senior Process Engineer will be assigned to Engineering projects and/or Process Engineering assignments working closely with Plant Engineering Manager, Process Engineers, Maintenance, Continuous Improvement & Production Management, site personnel and contractors.

Additional Information:

1st Shift Monday - Friday

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Responsibilities

  • Production support based on understanding the chemical & physical process steps.

  • Identify Improvement Opportunities in existing manufacturing operations, and facility/safety systems.

  • Understanding or developing process management tools such as mass & energy balances, recipes, and quality monitoring.

  • Working with others, sometimes on emergency off-hours basis, to troubleshoot controls, process & equipment issues.

  • Coordination and assistance with Safety & Regulatory activities such as MOCs, PHAs, Permitting, Construction safety planning, etc.

  • Project-related Engineering tasks such as understanding, developing and/or updating PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment & Instrument lists, General Arrangements, review of equipment and instrumentation, functional specifications, etc. as needed.

  • Preparation of Capital Request Documents, project justification information, developing scope, tracking action items, recording and distributing meeting notes, updating project documents, project SharePoint / information management systems, ROI calculation and post project savings reports.

  • Occasionally leading or supporting interdepartmental team for major multi-disciplined engineering projects with support from 3rd party engineering firms and/or internal engineering resources.

  • Developing Solutions and Managing Projects to address needs with production equipment and facility infrastructure.

  • Coordination/Oversight of engineering and construction contractors.

  • Procurement Management activities such as RFQ/RFP editing, bid walks, bid evaluations and analysis, responding to RFIs, vendor management, project materials management.

  • Developing, Monitoring and reporting of project controls including schedule, progress reports, budget, spend forecast, standard compliance, and other metrics.

  • Responsible for personal safety and adherence with EHS procedures and promoting EHS adherence with others. Lead preventative maintenance activities and troubleshoot complex equipment issues

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

  • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or at least four (4) years of work experience in engineering function

  • Must have at least two (2) year of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution, operations function

  • Must have at least five (5) years of work experience in an engineering function

  • Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering

  • Have at least six (6) years of work experience in engineering

  • Have Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
  • Have prior work experience applying Process Safety Management (PSM).
