Job Title: SAP Project Manager S/4HANA Upgradation & Migration
Location: Newark, CA (Work from Office)

About the Role
Client is seeking a highly experienced SAP Project Manager with a strong background in managing large-scale SAP upgradation, migration, and implementation projects, particularly with a specialized focus on S/4HANA upgradation (covering various upgrade variants beyond ECC to S/4HANA). The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership, end-to-end project management expertise, and a solid technical-functional understanding of SAP landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end SAP upgrade, migration, and implementation projects with a strong focus on S/4HANA upgradation programs.
- Drive project planning, scoping, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Work closely with functional and technical teams to ensure smooth execution of upgrade paths (e.g., S/4HANA upgrades across different versions).
- Establish project governance, monitor milestones, and ensure adherence to timelines and deliverables.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align SAP initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships, third-party consultants, and offshore/onsite teams.
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance in project execution, adhering to SAP and industry best practices.
- Provide strategic inputs and lessons learned for continuous improvement in SAP project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of overall SAP exposure, with 10+ years in Project Management of SAP programs.
- Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA upgradation, migration, and implementation projects (must have handled multiple S/4HANA upgrade variants).
- Demonstrated track record in managing complex SAP upgrade projects beyond ECC to S/4HANA.
- Hands-on involvement in project execution, not just governance.
- Strong understanding of SAP modules and technical architecture.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience in managing onsite-offshore delivery models.
- SAP Certification(s) in Project Management / S/4HANA / SAP Activate (preferred, a strong plus).
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-hosted S/4HANA migrations (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
- Exposure to SAP Activate methodology and Agile/Hybrid project execution models.
- Previous experience working with US-based clients in manufacturing, retail, or similar industries.
