Position Title: Project Manager, Fossil Fuel Power Generation (Natural Gas)

Location: Florida - Juno Beach Office or Remote

Pay: up to $65/hr

Position Specific Description:

In this role, you will directly impact the companys goal of aggressively growing the fossil generation business by leading projects to ensure success. This includes coordination with cross-functional teams (Development, Environmental, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, Operations, etc.). You will manage multiple projects and have the opportunity to dive into the process and progression of new and existing projects. We are looking for hardworking, detail-oriented, and intelligent leaders to join our team.

Job Overview:

Employees in this role lead the early-stage project management function supporting project origination and preparing for the execution of new fossil fuel power generation projects, including natural gas-fired simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects. This position coordinates site selection and due diligence, conceptual design, capital estimating, schedule development, and supports commercial agreement development to ensure projects are completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner with an acceptable level of risk. This role participates in all aspects of the project to ensure timely completion, adherence to budgetary constraints, and performance according to expectations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and facilitate the day-to-day management of projects to ensure timely completion and cost-effective, competitive results.
  • Utilize analytical abilities and rigorous thinking to work cross-functionally, determine highest priority actions, and drive projects forward.
  • Coordinate key functions such as capital estimate and schedule development, engineering/design, project capacity and performance metrics, and support project legal reviews, permitting activities, and commercial negotiations.
  • Support due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects while identifying and developing risk mitigation plans.
  • Act as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting, and utility interconnection.
  • Assist in the construction of contractual arrangements for the project, including writing contract documents, both commercial and technical.
  • Negotiate agreements with consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster relationships with internal customers, external customers, and third parties, and grow the companys knowledge of new technologies and markets.
  • Provide timely written and oral communication of project issues and progress to Engineering and Construction management.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field associated with fossil fuel power generation or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in natural gas-fired power generation or related field design and project management.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in project estimating.
  • Strong engineering background to ensure proper oversight of engineering aspects of projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera project management and scheduling software.
