Title: Principal IT Program Manager
Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid 2 days onsite per week at Oakland General Office or San Ramon Valley Conference Center)

Position Summary
The Principal IT Program Manager will provide strategic leadership across multiple, large-scale IT programs. This role requires an accomplished program leader who excels in delivering complex projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The Program Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, mitigate risks, and champion innovation in IT program delivery.
This is a hybrid position with 2 in-person days per week on average (Oakland or San Ramon).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and oversee complex IT programs ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies.
- Define program goals, timelines, performance metrics, and governance processes.
- Manage program budgets, resources, and interdependencies effectively.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks; ensure compliance with audit and governance requirements.
- Foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Communicate program updates, milestones, and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement, best practices, and innovation in IT program delivery.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of program/project management experience in technology.
Desired:
- Experience with PPM tools (e.g., Planisware).
- PMP certification (PMI).
- SAFe Agilist or SAFe Lean Portfolio Management certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven success leading complex, enterprise-level IT programs.
- Strong understanding of program/project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and ambiguity effectively.
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with strong execution skills.
