Job Details

Position Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Public Trust
Potential for Remote Work: Hybrid Remote 3 days per week onsite.
Description
  • Install, configure, and maintain scalable network devices such as Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Design and implement secure network access solutions and managing security policy using Cisco ISE to meet organizational requirements.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate and partner with other IT platform teams to support and optimize network operations and engineering.
  • Implement and manage network security architecture including network security patching and upgrades, security baselines, compliance, and hardware and software maintenance.
  • Provide level 2/3 escalation support and troubleshooting to resolve ServiceNow incidents and tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking administration, information technology, or a similar field preferred.
  • 5 + years of experience in Enterprise Networking
  • 2 + years of experience with Cloud PaaS and/or IaaS (Azure)
  • Strong understanding of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) administration
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN
  • CCNA / CCNP / CCIE certification preferred.
  • Routing Platforms Cisco ISR, ASR, CSR
  • Switching Platforms - Cisco Catalyst & Nexus
  • Knowledge of Network Security, VPN, ACL, DMVPN, IPSEC, NAC, MAB, DOT1X, and Encryption Standards
  • Security Platforms Cisco Firepower Threat Defense, ASA, Secure Firewall Management Center
  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud Networking, Fundamentals, and Security best practices: Public (Azure) and Private (Kubernetes) Cloud Technologies.
  • Knowledge of Azure architectural principles and key networking services such as MS Azure VNET, VNET-Peering, Private Link, vWAN, Express Route, Firewall, Load Balancer
  • Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM)
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
