DPP is seeking a Senior ITAM Specialist (Software) for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Work arrangement:
  • Fully onsite is preferred; will consider hybrid or remote
  • W2 position; 12 months
  • Overtime, travel, on call, weekends, and off hours as needed on a rare occasion
Position description:
  • This role requires a Software Asset Manager with large-scale data center and enterprise level experience. All candidates must have functioned as a Software Asset Manager as a full-time responsibility, not as a collateral duty as part of another role.
  • The Software Asset Manager should have experience supporting the software licensing needs of a large data center across multiple platforms and environments, including Wintel devices, Mainframe and UNIX utilizing software from major publishers. While all environments are not required, a good cross section of platform experience is expected for all candidates.
  • Extensive experience in licensing scenarios within a highly virtualized environment is required.
  • A solid understanding of electronic discovery in an enterprise environment with specific experience in HCL BigFix Inventory a plus.
  • Should be able to show subject matter expertise and experience supporting licensing and consumption data for large vendors (e.g., IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, CA, Adobe, etc.) in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be articulate and able to communicate and present effectively to Senior Management and external customers.
  • A typical day would include working with the team on delivery, data, documentation and service to Customer.

Minimum required work experience:
  • 5 years of asset management, procurement, workstation support, or other job-related work experience.
Job/class description:
  • Supports the asset management life cycle of information technology hardware and/or software assets throughout the organization. Implement policies, processes and procedures in support of Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) objectives. Identify and integrate ITAM processes with related processes within IS, to include Integrated Cloud Orchestration System (ICOS), procurement management, contract management, change management, and incident management.
  • Analyze and reconcile asset discovery data against current inventory data, entitlement data, and contractual terms and conditions for IT assets. Create and execute action plans to research and resolve identified gaps. Audit hardware inventories for accuracy. Analyze hardware utilization reports to understand current demand and forecast future utilization. Establish appropriate inventory levels to support business demand.
  • Provide ITAM support and services to IS projects upgrading or implementing new software and hardware assets. Maintain involvement into IT operations and system configuration changes that may impact ITAM functions, inventory data, or licensing compliance. Forecast, track and notify interested IS organizations of critical lifecycle and contractual milestones and activities (expirations, renewals, etc.). Provide data, knowledge and preparation in support of the milestones as appropriate.
  • Implement processes for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) activities ensuring work is in compliance with regulatory, government, and customer requirements. Actively seek and identify opportunities for cost savings and containment. Package and present ITAM savings opportunities to Senior Management.
  • Participate in budget creation and development efforts related to IT assets. Mentor entry level ITAM personnel.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of Asset Management policies, procedures and concepts.
  • In-depth understanding of hardware/software licensing/maintenance models.
  • Strong analytical, assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning and time management skills, with ability to prioritize and multi-task assignments.
  • Microsoft Office.

  • Adaptability number one, listening is important, communication with other team members, needs to be able to work alone and contribute as a self-starter and work with the team as well, comfortable with working in a full remote environment.

  • Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
  • Travel to other client sites may be required.
Required education/equivalencies:
  • Bachelor s degree in job-related field;
  • OR, Associates degree in job-related field plus 2 years of work-related experience;
  • OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 9 years without a degree)
