Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a wide range of commercial and industrial projects including commercial, healthcare, data centers, aviation and baggage handling projects.


This company offers flexibility in office location for this role, aligning with where the candidate currently resides.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and prepare detailed electrical estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents.
  • Participate in bid strategy meetings and analyze project risks, labor costs, material take-offs, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Perform quantity take-offs using digital software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and develop labor and material cost projections.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes and ensure coverage for all scope items.
  • Recommend cost-saving alternatives and value engineering options during preconstruction.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to ensure completeness and alignment with the client s expectations.
  • Work closely with the preconstruction team, project managers, engineers, and clients to comprehensively understand project scope and budget.
  • Maintain and update historical data for benchmarking and future estimating reference.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical estimating, specifically for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, local building codes, and commercial electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, Trimble) and digital take-off tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, riser diagrams, and specifications.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with design-build and design-assist projects is a plus.
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (not required with extensive experience).
