Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer - Facility to oversee engineering operations within a data center environment. This role involves managing risk, performing corrective and preventative maintenance on critical infrastructure, coordinating with vendors, and reporting on operational metrics.

Responsibilities:
* Manage on-site shift technicians, senior technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure all work aligns with established procedures and standards
* Establish performance benchmarks, conduct operational analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance
* Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency
* Operate and manage both routine and emergency services for critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems
* Support the design and build-out of new facilities as needed
* Participate in initiatives aimed at improving facility efficiency
* Oversee asset and inventory management
* Assist with recruiting efforts
* Ensure delivery of high-quality service and fulfillment of customer requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) degree and relevant experience
* 0-2 years of relevant work experience
* 0-2 years of management experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong leadership and organizational skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
* 0-2 years of Data Center Engineering experience
* 0-2 years of Data Center Management experience
* Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
