Job Description:

Role: The Geneva Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions on the Advent Geneva platform. The role requires deep knowledge of fund accounting, strong technical development skills, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy custom reports using Geneva's Report Scripting Language (RSL) to meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the Geneva application and its underlying data.
  • Work with fund accountants and business analysts to gather and interpret business requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle within an agile framework.
  • Assist with application maintenance releases and support for the Geneva platform.
  • Document technical specifications for new and existing solutions.
  • Migrate legacy reports to modern formats, such as RDL, where applicable.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Technical expertise:
    • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing with Advent Geneva RSL.
    • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to query and manipulate data in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, ).
    • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
    • Experience with other technologies like Python, .NET, or Oracle development may also be required depending on the team.
  • Financial knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and fund accounting workflows is essential.
    • Knowledge of complex financial products, such as equities, bonds, swaps, and bank loans, is a plus.
  • Problem-solving abilities:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Soft skills:
    • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
