Job Description

The Senior ServiceNow Software Engineer/Developer is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of ServiceNow solutions across various modules. This role requires advanced technical expertise in ServiceNow platform development, integration, and customization, with a focus on delivering scalable and efficient solutions that align with business objectives and ITIL best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Development & Customization:

Lead the design and implementation of ServiceNow applications, modules, and custom solutions to enhance ITIL processes and business operations.

Develop and maintain complex workflows, business rules, client scripts, and UI components to automate and streamline operations.

Customize ServiceNow forms, tables, and fields to meet specific business requirements.

Integration & Automation:

Architect and implement integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Server.

Develop automation solutions leveraging ServiceNow Flow Designer and Orchestration to improve process efficiency.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship:

Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers and cross-functional teams.

Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high-quality standards.

Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the development team.

Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:

Work closely with business stakeholders and product owners to gather and analyze requirements.

Translate business needs into technical solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with ServiceNow best practices.

Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation guides, and test plans.

Ensure solutions comply with organizational policies, security standards, and audit requirements.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

Stay current with the latest ServiceNow features, updates, and industry trends.

Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities and performance.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and administration.

Proven expertise in ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.

Experience with ServiceNow modules such as ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, and CSM is a plus.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS.

Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, data model, and UI/UX principles.

Experience with ServiceNow integration tools and protocols (REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub).

Certifications:

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in ServiceNow development and administration.

Proven track record in designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, CSM, BCM).

Technical Expertise:

Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS.

Experience with ServiceNow scripting components such as Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions.

Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, data model, and UI/UX principles.

Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integration tools and protocols (REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub).

Experience with ServiceNow modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, CSM, BCM, and CMDB.

Certifications:

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in one or more modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, CSM).

ITIL Foundation certification (v3 or v4).

Methodologies & Practices:

Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Familiarity with ServiceNow development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and unit testing.

Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Desired skills

Ability to build and maintain the user interface of ServiceNow's Service Portal, using technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS.

Experience building custom reusable portal widgets utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS.

Experience building custom applications and has ServiceNow Certified Application Developer cert

Ability to work remotely

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
